Senior AI/ML Specialist

We are seeking a Senior AI/ML Specialist with deep expertise in machine learning, large language models (LLMs), and applied AI system design. This is a short-term contract focused on executing a well-defined scope of work that will form the backbone of our AI strategy. The ideal candidate will be a proven technical leader with a strong academic or industry track record and the credibility to inspire confidence among internal stakeholders and external investors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of a targeted AI/ML project, leveraging LLMs and other state-of-the-art techniques.
• Deliver a robust technical proof-of-concept or prototype within 8 weeks.
• Produce technical documentation and high-quality outputs that are investor-grade.
• Advise on infrastructure, tooling, and best practices for scaling AI systems.
• Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to ensure the solution aligns with business goals.
• Support leadership in articulating the strategic value of the AI work to investors and partners.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in AI/ML, with a strong focus on NLP and LLMs.
• Hands-on experience fine-tuning, prompting, or deploying foundation models (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, Cohere, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to deliver AI products or systems in fast-paced, product-led environments.
• PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Strong publication record or past work with recognizable institutions, labs, or startups preferred.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills; able to present complex work to technical and non-technical audiences.
