Aarhus University’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applications for a PhD position within the Forever Bearing project, funded by Innovation Fund Denmark. This project aims to develop advanced signal processing and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to support predictive maintenance in industrial settings, focusing on real-time monitoring of lubrication state and bearing health.
Requirements
– Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
– Strong background in signal processing, AI, and data analysis
– Interest in cross-disciplinary research and collaboration with industry partners
PhD Candidates Will
– Develop and implement advanced signal processing and AI algorithms for multi-modal sensor data analysis (including vibration, ultrasound, temperature, and dielectric signals)
– Detect lubrication anomalies, quantify friction, and predict bearing wear using data-driven approaches
– Collaborate with leading Danish industrial partners, gaining hands-on experience in applied research
