Job Description

About Hendon Partners

Hendon Partners is a boutique M&A advisory firm specializing exclusively in acquisitions in home care, home health, and hospice. We work with founders, operators, and strategic buyers across the US, guiding them through some of the most consequential transactions of their professional lives. We're a small, high-trust team — which means every person here carries real weight and earns real responsibility.

The Role

We're looking for an entry-level analyst who brings a solid foundation in finance and a genuine interest in where technology is headed — someone who doesn't just use AI tools but thinks carefully about what they enable in a specialized, people-driven industry. This isn't a model-and-memo role. We want someone who can look at how a boutique healthcare M&A firm operates and ask: what could be sharper here?

You'll work directly with our principals across the full deal lifecycle — from identifying and qualifying buyers and sellers, to research and diligence support, to process management and client communications. If you see a workflow that could be smarter, we want you to say so — and then help fix it.

What You'll Actually Do

You'll support live transactions from first outreach through closing, gaining real exposure to how healthcare M&A deals are sourced, structured, and executed. You'll dig into how AI tools can improve the way we find, qualify, and communicate with strategic buyers and sellers across the home care space. You'll help prototype internal tools and automations that make our deal process sharper. And you'll bring a fresh perspective to a firm that values people who think for themselves.

Who We're Looking For

Minimum qualifications:

Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field

Hands-on experience with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Attention to detail

0–2 years of experience in finance, M&A, banking, or a related analytical role

You have a foundation in finance — a degree in finance, accounting, or economics, or early experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or a similar analytical role. You understand how to read a P&L, think in terms of EBITDA, and orient yourself quickly around a company's financial story. That grounding matters here, because the deals we run are real and the clients we serve are counting on sharp, honest analysis. That said, we know the right person isn't always the one with the most polished credentials — so if your background is unconventional but your instincts are strong, make that case.

On the technology side, you have hands-on experience with the current AI landscape — tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, or similar — and more importantly, you've used them to actually build something, not just experiment. We're not looking for someone who knows how to write a good prompt. We're looking for someone who has built AI agents — systems that reason, retrieve, and act across multi-step workflows with real outputs — and has used them to actually change how something got done. We want to see that you've been in the architecture, not just the interface, designing systems that replaced manual processes, tools built from scratch because you saw a gap and decided to close it.

We can teach you the healthcare industry. What we can't teach is the combination of intellectual curiosity, good judgment, and genuine care for the people you work with. This role involves real conversations — with buyers, sellers, and operators who are in the middle of some of the most significant decisions of their professional lives. We need someone who is naturally comfortable with people, who can hold a conversation with warmth and confidence, and who understands that in a relationship-driven business, how you show up matters as much as what you know. We want someone who brings that kind of presence whether they're stress-testing a valuation model or sitting across from an operator who spent twenty years building their business and is trying to figure out what comes next.

Details

This is a full-time, permanent position. Compensation includes a competitive base salary plus performance bonuses. Remote-friendly with preference for candidates who can engage in-person periodically.

As a Bonus

Tell us about something you've built or improved — doesn't have to be polished, just real. Walk us through it: what the problem was, what tools you used, and how it actually worked in practice. We're not looking for impressive. We're looking for someone who learns by doing and can tell the story of what they made.

Give us your best idea for how AI could change healthcare M&A. You don't need to know the industry inside and out — fresh eyes are part of why we're doing this. Think about what a deal process actually involves: finding buyers and sellers, researching companies, managing information flows, communicating under pressure, tracking a dozen moving pieces at once. Where do you see the biggest opportunity for a smart tool or automation to make a real difference? Pitch it the way you'd pitch it to the people who'd actually have to use it every day.
