Job Description

Our client is focused on delivering next-generation AI infrastructure solutions to enterprises, research institutions, and developers globally. As demand for AI compute continues to accelerate, the organisation is investing heavily in building scalable GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) capabilities to support machine learning, generative AI, and high-performance computing workloads.

The organisation is seeking a Head of AI Infrastructure Strategy with a strong understanding of AI infrastructure to lead the growth and operational scaling of its GPUaaS business. This leadership position will play a critical role in shaping infrastructure strategy, expanding operational capabilities, building high-performing teams, and driving long-term business growth within a rapidly evolving AI ecosystem.

Role

Reporting to senior leadership, the Head of AI Infrastructure Strategy will be responsible for defining and executing the strategic roadmap for the company's AI infrastructure platform. The successful candidate will oversee the development, deployment, and optimisation of scalable GPU cloud infrastructure while ensuring operational reliability, performance, and commercial viability.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the strategic direction and execution of the organisation's GPU-as-a-Service business, aligning infrastructure initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Build and scale the business by hiring, developing, and leading multidisciplinary teams across infrastructure, operations, engineering, and commercial functions.
  • Drive the design and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-performance GPU cloud environments capable of supporting enterprise AI, machine learning, and HPC workloads.
  • Partner with finance and executive stakeholders to develop funding and capital structures required to support infrastructure expansion and growth initiatives.
  • Establish operational frameworks, governance standards, and best practices to optimise reliability, efficiency, utilisation, and cost management across GPUaaS operations.
  • Evaluate emerging GPU architectures, cloud-native technologies, AI frameworks, and infrastructure innovations to maintain competitiveness and technical relevance.
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, sales, and customer success teams to ensure successful delivery and adoption of infrastructure solutions.
  • Engage directly with enterprise clients, AI developers, and research institutions to understand workload requirements and deliver tailored infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop strategic partnerships across the AI and cloud ecosystem, including technology vendors, hyperscalers, and infrastructure providers.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities, commercial partnerships, and expansion initiatives within the AI infrastructure landscape.
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership on infrastructure scalability, security, compliance, and risk management across all operational environments.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in building and scaling technology, infrastructure, or platform businesses within high-growth environments.
  • Strong commercial and strategic capabilities with experience driving business expansion, partnerships, and operational growth.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams across operations, engineering, product, commercial, or infrastructure functions.
  • Understanding of AI infrastructure, cloud computing, GPUaaS, data centre operations, or digital infrastructure markets would be beneficial, though deep technical expertise is not required.
  • Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including investors, enterprise clients, partners, and executive leadership.
  • Exposure to financing structures, capital planning, fundraising, or large-scale infrastructure investments would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex operational environments with a focus on scalability, execution, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong leadership presence with excellent communication, decision-making, and relationship management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Technology, Finance, or a related discipline. Advanced qualifications are advantageous.
