Business Intelligence Analyst (AI & Data Analytics)

About The Team

The Business Intelligence and Data Analytics team is the engine behind our data-driven business iterations. This year, we are evolving our core capabilities by integrating AI into our workflows. We are looking for a forward-thinking Junior BI Analyst to support our AI transformation by helping to bridge the gap between traditional analytics and next-generation intelligence.

Job Description

• Data analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for the Shopee cross-border business organisation
• AI-augmented support: Support senior leads in implementing AI initiatives that drive internal productivity and predictive business modelling
• Efficiency via AI agents: Utilise and build internal AI agents to automate repetitive data tasks and streamline team workflows
• Smart reporting: Evolve traditional BI dashboards into intelligent dashboards by incorporating predictive features and automated insight summaries
• Data product support: Collaborate with stakeholders to provide data support for AI-assisted simulation models and decision-support tools
• KPI reporting: Maintain data integrity and streamline data processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, or Mathematics)
• Min 1 year of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Data Engineering; experience within e-commerce or social media is preferred
• A demonstrated track record of using AI to improve personal or team productivity is highly desirable
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, particularly for data manipulation and automation
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Google Looker Studio
• Understanding of fundamental machine learning concepts (e.g. regression, clustering, forecasting)
• Hands-on experience with agent-building tools or frameworks, and familiarity with LLMs (e.g. OpenAI API, Claude) and prompt engineering for data analysis is preferred
• Comfortable working in a supporting role within a dynamic, evolving environment
• Able to explain technical outputs and data insights to non-technical stakeholders clearly
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and propose practical, including AI-augmented, solutions
